How good of gas mileage do you get in your ranger? I am getting a consistent 19.5/20mpg, mostly city, just want to see how off from a normal driver I am.

my old 93 ranger 2.3 L 5 speed with 3.55's in the rearend got 25 mpg no matter HOW i drove it.

my current 93 ranger.. same setup cept 3.73 gears in the rear and a splash bed... 25 mpg.. no matter how i drive it.

it DOES make a difference if you warm it up before driving it... not only in engine wear but in gas milage due to friction, etc from cold stiff fluids.

99% of my driving is on the E-way to and from work.

the 2.3 needs spark plugs about every 30 - 40,000 miles... and i run 5W-30 valvoline changed every 4 - 5000 miles.

my current ranger has over 160,000 miles on it...

No idea what gears, 1st runs out at 33-34 second is about 58.

I will change oil/plugs and wires soon.

How long do you let it warm up?

I only have 112 or 113k

5 - 10 minutes generally til i begin to build some decent water temperature in the motor... this does nothing to help the frictional losses from cold fluids in the trans and rearend... and your motor oil will not be totally up to temp... but it definitely helps.. especially with motor wear...
