Crossing Over. Part 2.
The ET Highway.

As I have stated before, people that live in the desert regions of the US have a well developed sense of humor. Their collective crowning achievement is the cosmic giggle (http://www.donzi.net/photos/osaffell12.jpg) known as the Extraterrestrial Highway (http://www.donzi.net/photos/osaffell13.jpg). Also known as "The loneliest stretch of road in America," (http://www.donzi.net/photos/osaffell14.jpg) the atmosphere of silliness is infectious. I, like millions of other pilgrams to this temple of UFOlogy and fringe beliefs (http://www.donzi.net/photos/osaffell15.jpg), came in search of evidence.

Many people drive route 375 (ET Highway) and never see a clue of alien occupation. However, having listened to the Art Bell radio program for over 10 years, my eye is trained to find even the faintest traces of proof.

It has been known for many years that the colonization of Earth began at the super secret airbase called Area 51 (http://www.donzi.net/photos/osaffell16.jpg). Of course aliens breed like rabbits, and soon they were over-running the place. The answer was to move them off base into subsidized housing in the form of vast underground bunkers. These bunkers run the entire length of the highway and are for the most part completely hidden from view. But you can see the many airshafts (http://www.donzi.net/photos/osaffell17.jpg) that lead down to these bunkers. Typically these airshafts will have an intake port on the left hand side of the road and an exhaust port on the right hand side. It is also known that some of the alien species, of which there are many, need to shed their skin every few years. This is a bodily function that the aliens are somewhat embarrassed by. So they sneak out of the bunkers at night and shed on the surface while no one is looking. Here are the left over remains of a molting (http://www.donzi.net/photos/osaffell18.jpg) that happened near one of the airshafts. The aliens are also nostalgic for many of the cultural icons they left behind to come to Earth. For instance, near many of the bunkers, they have recreated in perfect detail, scale models of the famous Face on Mars. (http://www.donzi.net/photos/osaffell19.jpg) Also near the airshafts, you can spot small, alien garden plots (http://www.donzi.net/photos/osaffell20.jpg), and two much larger crop circles (http://www.donzi.net/photos/osaffell22.jpg) near the sprawling metropolis of Rachel, NV.

Just outside of Rachel, Henry became very agitated and developed a strange expression on his face. So much so, that I took this photo (http://www.donzi.net/photos/osaffell23.jpg) a split second before we were enveloped in a blinding flash of white light. Everything seemed to be fine till we got to the Little A'LE'INN (http://www.donzi.net/photos/osaffell24.jpg). It was there, that I noticed my wristwatch was at odds with all the wall clocks in the resturant. This is a phenomenon known as "Time Dilatation" and a clear indication of Alien Abduction. By my wristwatch-and clock in the van, it was obvious that we have been "Taken" for exactly 60 minutes. Having hacked my way into one of their secret web sites (http://www.alienmap.com/best), I could see that my test results (http://www.alienmap.com/cgi-bin/lab_results.cgi) had been added to their extensive list of abductees. I wish they would play nice and share their data since I was going to have to schedual an anal probe anyway. They also must have downloaded my mind with their sophisticated scanning systems, cause when I returned home, I found that I was now on the mailing list of the Groom Lake Yacht Club. (http://www.ufo-hyway.com/glyc.html) Pretty nice of them to sign me up.

Join us again in Part 3 of Crossing Over, when Owen alters the ecology of a remote lake, learns the joys of Hampsterdom at Hoover Dam and more fun with feral snipers.
