Would the addition of fixed trim tabs add to the speed and handling characteristics?

I have no idea if the motor is a Holman Moody. How do I tell?

if it is a Holman Moody it has H/M on the bell housing, exhaust risers, cross over pipe and should have a metal tag stuck to the back of the engine with a H/M serial number and possibly a sticker on the front water pump bracket
H/M engines had a lil more HP

Tabs help handling on a 16 for sure, probably will hurt top end speed since they increase drag
but I would be lost without them on my 16
