A mechanic was removing a cylinder head from the engine of a Harley motorcycle when he spotted a well-known heart surgeon in his shop.

The surgeon was there waiting for the service manager to come take a look at his bike. The mechanic shouted across the garage, "Hey, Doc, can I ask you a question?"

The surgeon, a bit surprised, walked over to the mechanic working on the motorcycle. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and
asked, "So Doc, look at this engine. I open its heart, take valves out,
fix 'em, put 'em back in, and when I finish, it works just like new. So how come I get such a small salary and you get the really big bucks, when you and I are doing basically the same work?"

The surgeon paused, smiled and leaned over, and whispered to the mechanic.

"Try doing it with the engine running."

Good one Harbor M. Scott,

But:
They are both responsible for other peoples lives, but Doctors only work on two different models that are very similar except for the plumbing and haven't changed in a few thousands years, eek! Compare that to today hi-tech engines that continue to evolve or change every day. A good mechanic requires a minimum of $10,000 plus in personal tools a surgeon uses the hospitals equiptment. Bottom line is a doctors make's telephone number income gets paid whether the patient lives or dies, and the mechanic only earns the area code  plus if he doesn't fix it does he get paid? :( Have you ever seen a doctor pay a repair bill for a car he has to have towed to another repair shop? I think not! Hummmmmmm?

Ps. Ever adjust hydraulic lifter while the engine is running or set ignition timing, these babies are really alive and running not anesthetized.

Ok i'm done grand standing, someone get me a beer,

Walt :)
