:p I enjoyed the Wine Country...the most...I would recommend the Tiburon Area(spelling) just East on the main land over the Bridge...very cool little Port Town. Heading further East towards Sacramento.. are the famous wind generators...which are bizarre to see in person...I ventured out to Walnut Creek I believe to scope out some employment opportunities back in the early '90s....very neat area....The City itself has tons of incredible food & beverage diversion spots....just take notice of where you actually are prior to entering some of them, or you could get solicited in a differnet kinda way...."not that there is anything wrong with that" wink

Don't break down heading North on the entrance to the Golden Gate Bridge...That creates quite a scene. Go see the Pier. There is a GREAT Sports bar in the old town, forget the name. (somewhere on Freemont, I believe) Inside, has about 20' cielings, it is all charred and blackened from the great fire many years ago. When I was last there they had just had their earthquake and all the sidewalks were un-even and there were shut off gas lines coming out of the ground etc.

Come to think of it, that was also the part of town where I remember having a morning shower only to hit my head on a lit light bulb while in it with the water running. Never quite understood that logic.

They must have reserved that room for me after the bridge scenario... :D

Drive north across the Golden Gate Bridge (in a convertible) and visit Muir Woods. Big Redwood grove where they filmed the scooter scenes in Star Wars. Unlike any place on earth.
If you drop your wallet in SF, make sure you kick it to Oakland before you pick it up.

I thought this would be really hokey, but do the tour of Alcatraz. The tour is first class and self guided with Walkman head sets. The spoken history and the background sounds (sounds like a populated prison) are fantastic.

Thanks for all the tips guys. Did Alcatraz yesterday, along with all the fisherman's wharf stuff. Like reddog mentioned i thought it would be hokey, but it was pretty cool, and i got to go on a boat to get there. Matty, sis nixed me on the bullitt recreation. Now she's hiding her keys to the passat. Eugene, thanks for the big list of stuff. That will be put to good use. Today im grabbing my bro in laws mtn bike and heading across the golden gate.

I got a bit lost walking yesterday, and ended up in front of pac bell park. Its only a block and a half from my sis' place. pretty cool.

Oh and Eugene, although it isnt exactly the right season, appreciate the thought of a ride on the nicest magnum i have ever seen. Have a good Thanksgiving all.

GO to Sam's in Tiburon.

This is a DO NOT MISS!!!! Especially if the sun is shining. Great daytime hangout on the water on the Marin County side of the Golden Gate.

Eugene, Taxis all week for us that dont know where to go or how to get there. Probably a good plan. Hit mission last night. Found a horse track today, Golden Gate Field! Free hat day to boot. That free hat ended up costing me $80. Hills in marin county are very steep, especially on a bicyle. Muir woods tomorrow.

If you like to bike, you should also bike through the Presidio and Sea Cliff.

Also I forgot to mention, It's Dungeness Crab season. Go to the Wharf and pig out on crab and beer. :D
