I was part of an interesting conversation during the Hometown Rally this past weekend. A lot of fun people, a lot of beautiful boats.

Here it goes. Let's say you buy a used Donzi, try as you may it will always be refered to as "XXXXX's" old boat. If Scott Pearson EVER sold his 18, I think it will forever be refered to as "Pearson's" old boat. I now wonder who else has their boat branded as theirs.

Just for fun let's put together a list of branded boats. I'll start with:

1. Scott Pearson - 18 classic
2. Chris Allard - 18 classic
3. Scott Baxter - X 18

When I die and the person of my choice is damned with inheriting my St Tropez it BETTER ALWAYS be referred to as Morgan's old boat ! ! ! :D

Franks old supercharded 22.
Big Grizzley's Criterion.
Guess you can say Ed Donnely's Criterion SS is Jack Chisolm's old boat. If i recall, it was built for him. ??

I tracked down the previous-previous owner of my boat, a guy named Mike Kukla, so i guess i have mike's boat? He runs Bertram now. He invited me to call, but i just havent had the time lately.

I doubt anyone will refer to my boat as McGary's old Criterion, because that would mean i would have sold it, and that's just not in the cards.

The Z-25 I sold to Dino in Vermont has been referred to as "Donzigo's Z-25". Couldn't have gone to a more suitable new owner.

The new/old Z-33 (1989) will always be mine until I die. Then, I have instructions (I really have) that my ashes will be spread out there at the Whistler, (19 miles out in the deep azure waters), off of Egmont at the end of the sea channel in the Gulf of Mexico, here is St. Petersburg. After that, it will be probably be referred to as Donzigo's old boat that Donzigo Jr. now owns.

Bryant,
I see your point. I guess the same holds true for the name on some boats. Like my Hornet. I dont know if I ever sold it if it would be refered to as "Pearsons old boat" I think it would always be called "The Ultimate". People in the Donzi world know it as that I guess....

So what about names?

Cuda, how soon you forget. You bought "BUZILLA'S MINX"........remember?.........and if you don't get busy on that buffer, it's gonna soon be referred to as, "DEBBIE'S MINX", and they'll skip right over you, sport!

MadPoodle got lucky, no one refers to the last owner, it's already become "MADPOODLE'S CRITERION", ...........so how'd he do that?
