when i saved it in my pc, it is under this ACDSEE program. i could zoom in... but its really blury.

Actually, that is an 1839 map of Michigan. I blew it up a bit. Any more and it would get too pixelly.

just wondering where you got that info. from????
must not be from the same person or publishing. this is quoted from where i found it on the web.
"englishman aaron arrowsmith, in his day perhaps the foremost cartograpger in the work, published in 1802 a map that misrepresented the shape of lake michigan. on the same map, mi. lower penninsula was represented as having a very peculiar, triangle shape. arrowsmith continued to use this distoted map in publications as late as 1825".

so,,, if you found this map with an 1839 date,,, makes me wonder if someone else was using it. where did you find it? did it say anything of the publisist?
