I have a 1974 X-18 that has a Indmar 454 and a Berkley Jet drive. I have never seen another Donzi equipped this way. I would like to research the history behind this incredible Classic but dont know how to go about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My name is Todd Johnson from Guthrie,Ok. My boat is registered and there are plenty of photos. Thanks for the help.

I had a friend that used to have a 1973 18 2+3 with an Olds 455 and a Berkeley Jet. That boat was the reason that I had to have a Donzi. I went out on that thing once and had such a great time.

TBJ - beautiful boat. As part of your history research, see if the helm wasn't swapped from port to starboard. Most (all?) from that vintage had port side steering to my knowledge. So either Donzi special built it with the jet and starboard steering or someone else made the mod somwhere along the way?

Show us some more pictures with the rooster tail!

PS - ya just gotta love a big block in an 18. Just ask the Poodle :D

I remember when it was sold,so i don"t know if this is the new or old owner. The owner claims only 3 jets made. Your boat looks like a show piece.

-----I dunno Ken,I might bite on 3 X18s with jets but not three 2+3s with jets. The second boat pictured is,quite plainly, another X18 even if he has it listed as a 2+3.
-----Id love to ride in one of these bad boys sometime.Im sure they do handle well as theres plenty of hull in the water for those sharp turns!........Bill S

I stand corrected - live and learn. Just when you think you have it figured - must be that "old school vs. new school" thing

The jet in Canada belongs to Barry McLaughlin of Stittsville, right around the corner from Ottawa. It is a cherry 18 2+3.
