This is the first Friday night in I can't remember when, that I don't have to do anything early in the morning. Well the other day, Debbie and I were sitting at the table, looking at the bare concrete floor in our Florida room. Dumba$$ me says, "You know, that would look kind of cool if we did it like it was an outdoor patio.". She hasn't been of my back about it since. Hell, it's been bare floor since we were down at the Miami Boat Show, and keep in mind, I'm a tile contractor. Today, she picked up the tile, and informed me I was putting it down TONIGHT! Heck, what's a couple more months I was thinking. Anyone who knows me knows my motto: Never put off for tomorrow, what you can put off for good!

About 9 pm, I drag my sorry a$$ away from the puter and get started. Two hours of work later, I have one more run about ten feet long to finish it up, but it is easier to get on the tile I laid tonight to set it tomorrow, than it is to tile myself back in a little hole.

Here is what it looked like for six months.

It is a rack. They are used to space or grid the tile. We use them on smaller tile that have a pattern to them. If I didn't have one, it would have taken me two days instead of two hours to run this floor. Notice with the pattern I laid yesterday(herringbone), that there isn't a line that I can follow to lay the pattern against. These are 4x8 tile, there are four common patterns with these: herringbone, basket weave, brick joint, and soldier course. Basket weave is the most common used, just look at the sidewalk of a McDonald's and you'll see it.

J Yep, about right. I also didn't mention I had to buy her a new living room set the day before I went to get the Minx. frown

She has NO clue I have 2 LE's now... Just can't bring 2 home at the same time. I did my homework, I hope...

I'm done with my part. Now she gets to seal it, grout it, and put on the base. :) I'll probably break down and spread the grout for her. Here she is rolling the sealer on. This is the first time I've used this sealer inside, now I remember why. The fumes are awful!

I need to take some notes on hiding boats from you. :) It's easy Cuda, I hide all the cars in one warehouse, and the 2 boats in two seperate bays in another warehouse.. wink

J

we'll see how long this plan lasts :D

Actually, I have been looking around for a warehouse myself. I'm sure my neighbors would appreciate it! :)
