A few months back i posted some photos a restoration project my best friend and i have been working on for well over a year... We gave her hell last weekend at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes here on Michigan's West coast. To find another place remotely like it you have to travel to the other side of the Mississippi river...

for anyone not familar with the area it is a large play ground for a lot of testosterone, badass toys and BIKINIS...

amazing what people do to brand new vehicles :rolleyes:

the dunes are rather large with the most challenging being "Test Hill"

We used to do that in the '70s on a very large sand dune called Penny's Hill on the beach at the north end of Outer Banks in North Carolina. After a good storm, part of the hill would be entirely vertical and no vehicle could climb it - not even the buggies. The real fun would be going down the hill - either in reverse when you didn't make it over the top, or if you were really brave (or dumb) cresting the peak and going straight down. Whatever your do, never hit your brakes - drive it straight and give it a little gas! eek! eek! :D

That's one neat place isn't it Jamie. We went there a few years ago and camped at the state park. I got my 84 Bronco about four feet off of the ground when I hit the top of the hill, my friend has it on video! I won't question how my frame got bent.......
