Is that a Beagle? Don't let Vicki see, or I'll have one at my house.

She is a cutie though

And this morning, after fifteen crazy years, we lost that little booger... RIP Miss Fannie. NEVER a dull moment!

The relationship that people have with their pets is very special and for the most part far deeper than non animal owners can understand.
Having grown up in a farm environment I can't recall a time when there was no critters in the house although it ended up being a long spell with labs in the end.
Not to mention that my brother is a world class vet with his own practice that I frequent often .
Take your time and grieve but unlike losing a relative , close or not , you will heal and then you can consider another one.
One who will make your life better and one who's life will be better because of you .

15 years is a good life for a dog. 🐕

So sorry to hear this Jim. It hurts so bad and time seems to be the only way to relieve the pain of the loss. We just lost our 20 year old dog Bear at the end of July so I feel for you.

Thanks y'all. Been a tough one for sure. We were going to pull the Donzi out, and replicate the picture, but the end came too soon.

It was a good fifteen years! She will be missed!

The hardest thing for me was letting go of my dog. RIP

I have lived in my home for over 30 years and I always have 2-3 dogs so this is my pet cemetery at the back of my property:

As painful as it is to lose your special 4 legged companions it is wonderful if you have the space to honor and remember them in a place nearby. It can bring a lot of comfort .
By a twist of fate the only guide dogs that made it out here for a now deceased well known lady have their resting place 20 feet from my brother's house. There's a beautiful engraved marble plaque on the cliff face above their final resting spots with their images and names and a short brief about their faithful and dedicated service . I can remember them all with Jean and how special they were to her.
I always pause and think how much it meant to her and how happy she'd be knowing her faithful servants are memorialized forever.
