SE Michigan Dinner and Drinks Night December 6th

Hello Michigan Area Donzi Owners,

It's time to organize our next Donzi gathering. Since the boats are out of the water, this one will be on land. Last year, we had quite a good time at Buffalo Wild Wings in Novi.

This year, I am looking at getting together on December 6th for dinner at Mongolian BBQ in Novi and then heading to the Fifth Avenue Ballroom for the remainder of the evening. For those of you who have never been to Mongolian BBQ, it is a "create your own" stir fry restaurant that's become very popular. The Fifth Avenue Ballroom is just around the corner from Mongolian BBQ and is an upscale bar that offers cocktails, billiards, music, appetizers and a generally fun atmosphere. There's usually a live band later in the evening also.

The basic plan would be to meet at Mongolian BBQ for dinner and drinks at 5:00pm. After a good stuffing, we would then head over to Fifth Avenue for the rest of the evening. Your welcome to stay as little or as long as you want.

If you are interested and able to attend, reply to me ASAP or post here and let me know how many you’re bringing. With enough interest, I'll firm up the time and provide driving directions to those who need them as well as any additional pertinent information I may have. Also, it will be helpful to know how many are coming so I can have Mongolian BBQ reserve us a table. Let's make this bigger and better than last year!

We will be meeting at Mongolian BBQ in Novi at 5:00, Here’s the address and a map. From I-96 get off at the Novi, Walled Lake Exit. Head South on Novi Rd. to Grand River Ave. Turn left on Grand River heading East. Go approx 1/8 mile to Towne Center Drive. Turn right on Towne Center Drive. Mongolian BBQ will be on your right.

Around 7:00 or so we’ll be heading over to Fifth Avenue. . From I-96 get off at the Novi, Walled Lake Exit. Head South on Novi Road. Fifth Avenue will be on your left (East side of Novi Rd.) about 1/8 mile South of Grand River Ave.

OK, I have a table reserved for 25 people at Mongolian BBQ on Saturday December 6th at 5:00pm .

Please make note that the only time I could get a reservation for was 5:00pm .

Randy, great idea! Beth may not go for a 4 hour ride for dinner and dancing though. I'll ask and let you know. I'd like to see everyone again since I missed the last outing. :)

:p Well if it was just a few weeks later Liz and I would be able to attend....but? Just as an FYI, we will be in Howell for Christmas and likely thru New Years....I know I am meeting with the Somervilles....but if anyone wanted to down a few while the Republican is in Town....we might be able to coordinate something....email me or post it here...Have a great time and a Safe Holiday Madcows! :cool:

Thanks for organizing. Cherrie and I booked a room at the Doubletree Inn...even though we are only about an hour west of Novi! I guess the plan is to shop Saturday, party Saturday night, then shop again Sunday. 1/3 of this idea sounds great to me, but when the wife speaks I listen! (Just a little heads-up advice there, Randy, from a 25 yr. veteran, being that you're newly husbanded and all.)

maybe, (if you have or know someone with the capability) i'll give you the tape, and you could burn it to a dvd for me???? then i can just make copies for anyone who wants it.

unfortunatly no, not to sure how to do all this but,,, i think all i need is a usb cord for my cam corder. i'll bring everything i have and maybe we can "borrow" a tv there and watch it on a real screen. :D

Awesome shots as usual, Brad, thanks for posting. Cherrie and I had a great time, and look forward to the next time this group gets together. Random thoughts:

* Sit too close to Roadtrip at dinner and the heat radiating from his stir-fry will melt your eyebrows.
* Matt Dykema fights fires for a living...now THAT is a noble endeavor.
* I like drinking beer way more than I like Christmas shopping.
* Tamberello's wheelchair is freakin' FAST!
* Jenn can kick Randy's ass in pool, but probably doesn't so as not to hurt his feelings. (Big guys can be sensitive, too.)
* Where the hell was ROOTSY?
* I think Brad Lyon's flash gave me a SUNBURN.
* I can't wait to see the "Gauntlet" next summer!
