Hey Guys, I was in Houghton Lake yesterday for work, and I stopped at the Holiday on the Lake Resort to check it out for a Donzi meet. This place totally rocks, and we should work together to get something there either yet this September (8-9?), or else next summer.
The resort features a great bar, a restaurant, and a motel right on the lake...with a DNR launching ramp right next door. Not to mention dock space for 50 boats! The manager seems really cool and he wants to work with us to bring a gathering there. This past weekend they hosted the Michigan Hot Boat Association meet with excellent results.
For those of you that don't know, Houghton Lake is the largest inland lake in Michigan. It is fairly central in location, being about 2.5 hours from the Detroit Metro area, and about the same distance from Grand Rapids and Lansing.
So what do you think? Should we try to get a few of us together there yet this year, or shoot for something next summer? Please post any and all comments....Thanks, Chris :D :D
