I am interested in seeing how you like this boat. How well it handles the rough , also what type of speed you get out of it.

Good choice. The speed vary greatly depending on power. My 242 LS will run around 62 to 64 with twin 350 mags. The 272 should be about the same. Very well made boats.

Scot,
The boat of all boats is the 1987 to 1989 272 Formula. Twin 350's if you can find one. Palm Beach colors for graphics. Price range on Lake George is 24 to 29K. Best Lake to find one? Lake Winnipesaukee , New Hampshire.

Eddie,

Can you share your reasoning behind that statement for those of us who don't know the boat?

The 272 Formula was a true 27 feet long PLUS the swim platform so in essence it was almost 30 feet long. Today a 27 foot boat INCLUDES the swim platform. The last number designated how many engines. The boat had wonderful acceleration, could turn without slipping and had beautiful twin throttles, wrap around bolster seats and that hull could go through 3 foot rollers and you would feel like you were sitting home on your couch. The smoothiest ride I ever had.The Palm Beach colors were on the side and on the upholstrey. Most were puchased with two 454 engines, only a rare few were ordered with twin 350 engines. My brother had one and I drove it and loved the way the boat handled. TuxedoPark See post 1991 Colbalt under "Other Boats For Sale"and read 2Bigguns second post. :D :D

Actually the last "2" in the 272 and the 242 is the inches. The 242 is 24 feet 2 inches long. Almost all 242's were single engine. I have a 242 with twin 350's for sale.

I've a few Formula's I'm picking up in the next few weeks... the prices were too low to pass on them for parts alone ($3200 for all 3 including a single and double axel trailer), but I don't know much about them.

1973 23' Formula 350/alpha
1972 28' ForumulaCruiser w/302
1983 17' Formula

Any of them decent boats?

I'd love to see some pictures of the V drive 17. I only have three Formulas and no Donzi's. frown

Cuda- Give me some honest feedback about the 3 Formulas and I might be pursuaded to share something about Donzi 4- the one with Speedmasters. Just don't tell Jim about it :)

Actually, Jim's responsible for Donzi-3, X-18 #2. He both found it and inspected it for me- Much appreciated.
