I saw a Stingray 230sx for sale by me and started to check up on the brand. I see they have been around for a little while per their website and they look sharp with good power too. This boat is a '97 with 300 hp 454 for low 20's....not bad.

Any experience or info appreciated.

I RODE IN A 19' STINGRAY IT RODE VERY HARD IN ABOUT A 8" CHOP , BOAT WAS OK OUT SIDE OF THAT .
MAYBE A 23' WOULD BE BETTER . CHECK THE RIDE OUT , THIS 19' WAS AROUND A 1999 OR 2000 . THE RIDE WAS SO BAD THE OWNER HAD ~ 8 INCH FOAM PIECES ATOP FRONT SEATS AND IT STILL POUNDED YOUR RIB CAGE SO BAD WE SLOWED UNTIL THE NOSE WAS IN THE WATER . TOOK HIM OUT IN MY DONZI 18' AFTER COMING ACROSS LAKE GEORGE SAME ROUTE EVEN I COULDN'T BELIEVE THE DIFFERANCE IN RIDE .

I thank you for the post Don,
I am usually either in flat water or 3 footers so maybe I should think twice. I guess I could ask for a sea trial on a windy day hmmmmmm.

My friend had a Stingray 230SX 502 boat (STUNG AGAIN), fast as all get out in the smooth water, 70, he was at AOTH I with it, but in the bay, he had testicle relocation at times eek! , it has to do with their Z Strakes or something, that makes them nose high and fast in the smooth, but land hard in the rough.

I can give you his number/email address if you like, Or he is RECKLESS 288 here and on OSO.
