Have wanted to post something about these boats for a long time to see who all remembers them. Don't think I've seen them mentioned here and I've actually had a hard time finding any pics or info. on them.

It's common enough to see Chrysler Inboard and Outboard motors, and there are many of the old big bulky Chrysler runabouts still running around, but in the early 70's there were some of the boats pictured below produced that (don't laugh) I thought were very cool.

Not particularly crazy about the outboard model unless it had some non-Chrysler outboard motor on it, but they did produce some with Volvo Penta's and Chrysler V8's (318's, etc.)(cool!).
The one pic of the all blue one was called a Chrysler "Conqueror". Pretty neat, but I remember more of the others. I have no idea of the quality of construction on these hummers, but I always thought this shape was rather innovative. One thing I noticed (see link) on a site I found; I'd forgotten; Chrysler even made a stern drive unit. Enjoy the pics!

Now pics:

SEE NEXT REPLY - PICS DIDN'T WORK FOR SOME REASON - BOLDTS ADDED THEM - NEXT POST...

NOTE: I don't think the one flying the Canadian flag is an original paint scheme. Kinda cool though.

Most of the ones shown here are from 1974.

Not sure why yours didn't work. The address was right because all I did was copy yours. I didn't put as many on the post though. Thank-you for the pictures! I kind of like that Canadian version. All it needs is a 426 Hemi :)

Don't knock them Chrysler outboards! :D

I had that EXACT boat (the blue metalflake one) with a 115 Chrysler as a kid. Dad traded his Checkmate tunnel for it, when mom made him quit racing. The motor was bullet-proof! I know I tried my best to blow it up..

That 16' Conqueror was a blast! I don't know how fast it really was, but it felt like a screamer to me! We skied, cruised, raced, even DUCK-HUNTED out of that thing! :D (We threw sheets of camo over it, and parked it the marsh!) It was really a well-made boat, and took tons of abuse.

If I ever find a clean one, WITH Chrysler power, it's mine! :)

ps: I also like the later I/O Conquerors with the 340 SuperBee motors...

Thanks Boldts! I don't know what I did wrong. Anyway there they are now. Cool, huh?

I like the "Canadian Flag" boat's scheme too, though, as I said, I don't think it's original.

Jim - Didn't mean to blast the Chrysler outboards. Always kind of partial to Johnson's. Now that I think of it, I did have some fun skiing behind a friend's Chrysler outboard years ago!

Just judging by "what's still around" doesn't look like the Chrysler "stern drives" did too well though, eh? I think I vaguely remember them...

Craig, just kidding! :)

I do have fond memories of that little boat, though!

That guy put together a cool website, for some pretty obscure boats. You just gotta love the 'net! They even have an annual get-together!

Jim - Yeah, like I said, I had a pretty hard time even with the net finding anything about Chrysler Boats. Searched for "Chrysler Boats 1970's" and stuff comes up like : "FOR SALE - '78 Chrysler New Yorker with boat". Or, because of the cars you get a bunch of car stuff (same with Volvo - is there a Volvo 270 model car? I think there must be).

Anyway, got a little more creative "Chrysler Marine", etc. and found this stuff. Actually pics are from a few different locations. I also have some I've taken. Need to scan them.

Wonder how long they made these things? I remember several versions. One had just a white with red color scheme (no blue in it).

Figured I'd post one more link with more nice pics of the Chrysler "Conqueror" and a nice Chrysler engine collection.

Craig, the pictures are great. I had a 151 Charger in 1969 and had to sell it to my brother-in-law when I went into the USAF. He then went on to sink it somewhere in south Florida.
Thanks, Jack
