Have the engine out of my 21 Apache (Challenger hull) it is a 454 HO and someone spent alot of time and money on this engine, fully balanced and blueprinted, but, it appears they must have spun a bearing and did a questionable repair to the crank and it obviously didn't hold.

They machined the sides of the journel where the rods ride, they removed the chamfer from each side of the journel. So the side to side clearences were huge, lost the bearing on that journel, #4

Am sending the short block to a reputable Marine engine builder for a fresh crank, two rods, machining and balancing, and a roller cam to replace my flat tappet camshaft.

Engine has rectange port heads 10 to 1 forged pistons, and soon to have a roller cam and rev kit, and a new Jacobs Marine ignition. :)

Was running 70 @ 5,100 RPM, with roller should turn 5,300

Should be a honest 450+ h.p. 454 :p "looking to do some cool runnin in the low seventies Mon"
