Help Compadres...

As I type, my buddy Pete is down in VA picking up a 97 22ZX with the stepped hull and a 330hp 454 Bravo 1 setup. I need to know what the correct prop is for this boat... it has some 4 blade 21P prop on it now, however, Pete is new to Donzi's and really isn't sure what it supposed to be. The sales guy tells him its banging off the limiter at WOT. He is trying like hell to get back in time for the Winni Poker Run... any info would be great!

Woodsy The motor in that boat is a 454/310hp out the prop. The correct prop for that boat is a 22 pitch 4 blade bravo 1. Thats what I ran on my 22 before I procharged ran 63 mph at 4700 rpms.

We ran a 24 Bravo one out of the box on our 22ZX.
It came with a 22 like Franks but Donzi traded us a 24 for it, ran much better.
Pictures please....

I have a 1999 22zx and it came with a 24p bravo. Ran around 62 with that prop. Is the engine the 7.4 mpi or the carb version?

I may be wrong but wasnt the 97 22zx still using the non-step hull and the carbed 7.4? I thought 98 was the first year for the step and efi.

frank what engine was in your boat? Mercury made 2 different 7.4 mpi engines in 1998, the 7.4 mpi http://www.donzi.net/photos/boatengine1.jpg and the 7.4 Lx-mpi(not a magnum just used a similar intake). http://www.donzi.net/photos/boatengine2.jpg

Frank the one I had was the top as well, I wish mercury would have stuck with the LX version.
