does anybody know anything about this boat? I came across it on e bay and it looks like it could be a pretty sweet deal, just wondering if anyone knows anything about it or them and if it's worth the asking price? click here- the boat (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1825857762) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1825857762

Kind of a homely looking boat in my eyes.

man, that was pretty rude!

why ask for people's opinions when you appear to have your mind made up anyway... it's a total waste of time and space...

and yes it's homely... but hey that's just MY opinion...

I drove a jet drive boat for a day. Thank God I only rented it!
Good Points: You can't accidentally chop off a swimmer's foot.
Bad Points: Wanders like crazy at idle. Cut power in a panic situation and you've just lost your steering! SLOWER THAN SH*T, at least 5mph slower than the same hull and power with stern drive, and up to 10 mph slower than a V-Drive.
:( Yeah, It's a pretty West Coast style Day Cruiser, but if you're used to stern drives, you WILL be disappointed. The exact same hull with a V-Drive or a Stern Drive would fetch many times the price of a jet.
Squirt Guns are a dime a dozen, for good reason.

If anyone wants me to go look at it for them I'd be happy to. I live in Fredericksburg-

Looks like a Campbell day cruiser. Popular here in Southern California. Solid boats, but this one looks a little rough. If you like this style, see www.hotboat.net (http://www.hotboat.net) classifieds.

Ahh yes; the infamous Tahiti aka Hawaiian aka sleek craft aka spinner jet boats. Made from 1971 to 1982 in 17 to 26 foot hulls. Most were two tone brown and beige some were blue and white and in between. Most were originally 455 olds engines and Berkley jet drives then swapped out to big block chevys and Jacuzzi or Berkley copy drives. They are useful on rivers and lakes where you need a shallow water boat. The last models had a stepped hull which interfered with the suction on the jet drive, Reggie Fountain put an I/O in one and then started using the stepped hull his Excaliburs errr.... Fountains.
