I think that I remember seeing a 22' or 24' Fountain in my area a few years ago. Did Fountain ever make such a boat or am I losing my mind?

Fountain did make a 24' boat. I'm not sure how many or for how long. It wasn't that many years ago. There is one that runs on the chain of lakes up here. Nice looking boat.

----------All this Fountain talk has me thinking.Does Reggie count the beak in his overall length statements? So, are all his boats actually 18 inches shorter than his catalogs say they are?Is there any real reason for that protrubence off the front of every Fountain or has Reggie just backed himself into a corner by building so many of them already?Does Reggie have a bunch of talented designers who are totally frustrated by his inability to see that the beak is truly ugly?..........Inquiring minds need to know!..................ol red.............Bill S

I have a 24 Fountain...it's actually 24'9" and it's called a Competition Series. It was Fountain's attempt at a ski boat. It does not look like a typical Fountain. The "beak" is not nearly as pronounced. They weigh 4800 lbs, have a step hull and and a 35 gallon water bladder in the bow that can be filled and drained from the driver's seat. They made under 300 of them and they were made between 1994 and 1996 I believe. There is a nice cuddy space under the big flat bow. Mine has a 502 mag and runs a true 76 mph. For now....A very nice ride too. If anyone would like some pics, let me know where to send. I'll post a couple here later. Take care.

Donzishawn: would like to see some pics of the fountain. I have always been interested in that particular hull. How does it perform in rough water? Any pics and info would be appreciated, thanks...Matt

---------Truly hope I havent stepped on any toes out there with beak comments.Other than inane beak observations all I really know about Fountains is that they seem very fast. That and there sure are alot of them out here on the river during the summer.Right now there are chunks of ice bigger than most Fountains floating down thru here.Hope my dock lives thru this winter................ol red.......Bill S

Here you go guys, let me know if you have any questions. Notice the "beak" is not as pronounced. The boat rides great!! I've had it going 72 with 4 people, 35 gallons of water and 60 gallons of gas in about 3 to 4 footers and she rode right on top, very smooth. Enjoy.

Donzishawn: that is one good looking boat, like the all white exterior. How is the freeboard at the transom, is the sunpad cushion close to the water where it would get wet idling in the ocean chop? Thanks for the pics and info, real nice rig: Matt

Thanks Matt, she is a fun ride. Here's a pic of the transom. Don't really have a problem at idle because the drive is so far under the platform.

Woooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaa...Donzishawn....
eek! Hey wanna be Donzi boy.....what the hell you still doing on this site. eek! ...trader. :D ..getting rid of a sweet 18 classic for that thing you call a boat :D you got balls buddy 76mph.... eek! what did you clock that with a Warren County Sheriff radar gun? You do know their off 10-15 mph up in da sticks :D If a 22 Classic w/ a stock 502 EFI won't do 76mph how come your 400lb heavier canoe will? We know its not the design...I know your "BLOWING it soon so please post your world record pass on LG wink NICE boat ...DORK :D

For some reason, the transom pic did not come through, here it is again. And as for you Dwight...anyone who get's their boat to porpoise that bad has not right to make ANY comment to anyone. Looks like the only planes you know about are the ones you fly. By the looks of your boat in your picture you have no clue about K Planes. But just so you know, my boat has a step hull, translation, less wetted surface. Less wetted surface means less drag, less drag means more speed. The 76 was on GPS...that stands for Global Positioning System. I'll put a mirror on my transon so you can see how you look in your boat. Ha...later.

eeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwww hit a sore spot huh? 1st of all my 22 doesn't have K-PLANES there called Trim -Tabs. K planes are on RACE BOATS... eek! which you should know about? 2nd of all I've been around boats as long as you ...probably longer and know how to use trim tabs...but just the same you might consider your statement and the facts etc about my "air" shot as you obviouly didn't know we were slowing over incomming swells and were not porposing. Yes, the bow is high but were NOT going 70-80mph more like 30-35 as I had pax in the back. The bow was up only once not several times like your comment stated.. so hope not to ruin you day fountain boy :D By the way you might check your batteries in that toy thing you call a GPS ... 76hmmmmmmm!

ps your transom pic still a no show
pps you'll need that mirror to see me comming up your 76mph GPS fountain...You sure you didn't mean 76GPH :D thats gallons per hour...
