Is it just me or does this hull resemble a classic Donzi with a different deck on it? Has anyone ever seen one of these before?

It looks like a Donzi, because it is a Donzi almost. :D
When it was built the same corporation owned Donzi and 4Winns.

Anybody ever seen a Donzi Clone made by Invader in the mid 90's?? I keep meaning to post a few photos of the only one I've ever seen, but haven't taken the time. The owner told me it was the same kind of deal as Four winns "Unlimiteds" (i.e. same parent company for a time, so they used the hull mold -- deck is a fair bit different, but still resembles the Donzi Classic 18's look). Ironically, Invader's was called the Invader "Limited." I think I mentioned this on the site before. I'm getting old (40) and I can't remember. Pretty nice boat though. Had a Volvo SX drive (w/ 5.0). Owner said it ran around 70, but I took it out once and got 52 on the speedo and the GPS. Sharp looking boat -- I'll post some pics. I know I've scanned them, but haven't put them on the site. Owner had installed thru transom exhaust (which wasn't how the boat came) with some nice looking chrome tips that angled down. I have talked to Invader (of Canada) seeking info. They say Invader (of Giddings Texas) made them, but is now out of biz. I thought there was still an Invader comapny of some sort in Giddings Texas. Not sure if this is same as GW Invader company who also has a site.

O.K. Here are the pics of the Invader Donzi "clone" although clone might not be the right word. It's deck is even more of a departure from really copying the Classics than the Four Winns models. Anyway, I think this thing is very cool looking. The pics don't do it justice, but they're not too bad.

And then, for fun, here's a shot of me about 27 years ago in another Invader. The little GW Invader (mentioned here previously). We had this boat for one great summer. You can't make it out real well in this old photo, but there's a big smile on my face! Engine was a 25hp Johnson. What fun!

That is a pretty cool looking boat. I might even like the deck better than the Donzi's (did I really say that?)

Getting back tothe Four Winns U-17 and U-19, they were going to be the replacements for the Classics whle onder ownership of OMC! Can you beleive it?
WHen OMC sold off Donzi, the designs were given to Four Winns to start a recreational performance boat. What a world!
