Nice looking boat. Can you tell me more about them. Who makes them? how do they run? Any company history?

Christian,
Rabco was started down here in St. Pete and apparently used hulls from Cigarette and Cary, to name a few, as a basis for their molds. The company is not around any more, but the founder still lives here in St. Pete. When I meet him, I'll get all the gory details.

They make a nice 30, my buddy has this one with 2 Yamaha's on a scissor jack. I've also seen a +/- 40 footer running around with triple big blocks. That was a piece of work.

Mine runs great with a 200 on a jack plate. The previous owner supposedly beefed up the hull by adding new 3" stringers. In fact, I bought my Rabco from the guy who owns the 30 in the picture below.

When I looked at the first pic I thought,"That looks like Shell Island", after seeing the other pics and where you are from, I see I was right. We were out there today.

I remember when they made Rabcos in St Pete. The shop was on Central or 1st Ave I believe.

I also have a boat from a now defunct ST Pete boat builder. It is a Biddison 1800 Open Fish. I watched them build it. I bought it new in 1988, and just repowered it with a 175 and hydraulic steering last year. Great boat.

Shell Island it is. Cuda, we gotta hook up. We've been religiously going to Shepherds on Sundays, but I'm about due for a change. I hear the Undertow is good on Saturday...Once the weekend gets closer, I'll let you know what we have in mind.

Nate,
Sorry man, been away a while...
What happened to your project? Up and running...or gone?

Gene, she's still in the works. Had a minor delay with the "glassman," but things are taking shape. I'm still collecting a plethora of parts and am finally getting close. It'll still be a while, but good things are worth waiting for. When will you be in the St. Pete area?
