I was wondering if you had any info on this particular boat...I was unaware any were made this large. One showed up at my marina the other day and it is huge! The radar arch is funtional as an air intake for the engine room and it even has a davit on the rear hatch for plucking small water craft from the stern. Can you offer any more info on this? It is in Hampton Bays if you and just arrived from Mass.

Brownie,

I should have known you'd have info on that boat... :) Was it built by BG? How many were built? How much does it weight?

If the 45' in question had an eight foot beam and had triple engine power, then it was an Aronow 45'. That boat was never finshed while Don was alive. The hull plug was in was nearly complete. The new owners of Aronow Powerboats eventually finished the 45 using Don's hull design and I think, built maybe three of them.
The 47' had the radar arch and had a wider beam. The Aronow 47 had nothing to do with Don. All it really was, was a Midnight Express that the Garbrect decided to call an Aronow before that company went belly up under Garbrect's watch.

I think they were built in Sanford, FL. Use to see them on the St. John's river alot.

Plant was near the Sanford Airport.

Thanks BBD. It is the 47 with about a 10-11 foot beam and I certainly saw some Midnight Express influence in the deck...

The name on the boat is Peter Pan and it looksd like its been sitting for quite a while.

Thanks again for the info.
