View Full Version : Bertram 20
Hello !
I wonder if someone has a picture or a link where i can find out the original look of a Bertram 20 from 1963. It has original teakdeck and no extended dash. Its located in Sweden and in ruff condition with many parts missing. The intention is to restore it to nearly original condition.
Thanks in advance.
Have you tried Bertram31.com and bertram25.com. Also you may find a Bertram ad on E-Bay. However, I don't recall ever seeing a 20' with teak decks. Could be one the European models ??? You could also try asking on Fiberglassics.com. Good luck!
Hi another shot www.yachtworld.com (http://www.yachtworld.com) I took a look they have about six listed. Also www.traderonline.com. (http://www.traderonline.com.) Two of the largest used boat sites.

Ross, this boat was imported to Sweden from the US in the 80´s i think. it has a volvo setup with left hand steering. We belive it to be an early produktion boat and it looks as the teakdeck is original.

We had a closer look at the boat yesterday and came out with the conclusion that it ain´t any Bertram 20  . It looks whery simillar but when we looked closer to the hull it had some differences from the boats we have seen on the net.
The new task will be to sort out what kind of boat he has ( it was sold to him as a Bertram ).

Lazze, Ray Hunt the designer of the old Bertrams also designed a series of 14',16' and 18' Hunts. These boats look just like Bertrams and some of them had teak decks. The boats sold in Canada in the 60's/70's were built by O'Day Boats. If there is a chance the boat is actually 18', this maybe what you are looking at. I have some pictures of these boats if that would help; let me know. The Hunts as the Bertrams are very easily identified by their flared chine that required them to be built with a split mould.
Thanks for the info !
We have not measured the boat but i fell its about 20´, but i shall go to the garage at Monday to check. If you can e-mail me any pictures, i´ll be glad.
Hope to take some pictures of the boat, makes probably the task easier.
