I have the chance to help a good friend get a 73
20 cig, the boat is in real rough shape and would need a total restore, I believe hp 500 has got a project boat in similar shape?
the questions I have are

1 are new interiors avail. from built rite or a similar co.
2. in 73 what were the gas tanks made from steel or alum.
3.what is the going price for good marine paint job all black with a yellow boot stripe
4. what a fair price on such a project hull

the boat has not been in the water in over 10 yrs
the gelcoat is shot, the owner thinks his boat is worth thousands??? not so I think.
It has a volvo 270 and chevy hipo 350

thanks

Matt

Matt,

1. Yes I beleive you can still get the seats,
Forrest knows where..he had all new made for his Magnum.
2. The tank should be aluminum.
3. This is a tough one but you can spend 1-2K
depending on condition.
4. Really tough one depending on the condidtion
of the transom and stringers. Is it ALL there?
All the small stuff.....maybe between $500.00 to $3000.00 if there is a trailer.
Post some photo's of it...maybe we can give you
better answers.

no trailer, boat has been in dry storage all this time, hull seems solid but the finish is gone,
will work on pics, all hardware is there but pitted. seats dry rotted, one busted bucket up front, but the boat has great lines

keep you posted

Smoothie,
are TRS props hard to come by? Just checking for future reference.

Mike,
You can use the same props on TRS drives as you would on other mercruiser drives(large, solid hub),I need to use a left-hand rotation on mine, which in a way is good for e-bay bidding, not to many looking for just a left-hand only. :D

Matt,
You could use just about anything, but I would go ahead and buy a piece of teak, take it to a lumber yard and have them size it down for you, just dont tell them its for a boat, they will charge you double :D
