Another project I have (not started yet)
is a 1956 Higgins w/312 Ford Interseptor in it. It is in Bad,Bad,Bad shape, but I have 99% of the pieces. I've skied behind it a long time ago many times.
The 312 Ford motor is a "Y" block, anyone know anything about these? I think they came out in trucks for two years.
This boat might be called a "Sportster".

The 312 was the "Y" block family. Started in 1954 with a 239, went to 272, 292 and 312. Called a "Y" block cause the block extended down next to the main bearing caps. Very strong. They came with solid lifters that were installed from the cam side. They were in lots of Ford cars and trucks in the 50's & 60's.

Popular old boat motor too.
