Hey Everyone,
I'm looking for any old wooden raceboats from the classic era, 1925-1950. I'd prefer inboards, but will look at just about anything. My goal is to save as many as possible, as the attrition rate was pretty high. Any leads would be most appreciated.
All the best,
Bob Murdock

There are a few places in Mt. Dora, FL that deal in old wooden boats. One being "Old Time Boat Company", but I don't have their phone number with me, but they should be easy to find. They should be good for a few leads.

A friend here placed his 50s Chris Craft runabout with a boat dealer that had an indoor showroom in your fair city of Cincinnati. Ask around and I'll bet you'll find it and they would almost certainly have contacts for you.

Hi a buddie of mine runs Vintage Marine on Long Island. He has been at the resto and building of these boat for many years and would probably be a good resource for leads to older runabouts. Try droping him a line at.

Murdock, a great source of info and contacts can be found through the New Hampshire Antique and Classic boat museum. see their website at www.nhacbm.org (http://www.nhacbm.org) (be sure to check out my brother Mark Howard's boat, "Scotty" an original Gold Cup racer from 1930 :D )
