'73 Ski Sporter 16 cockpit cover support rod

I'm looking for a center support rod for
a '73 16'Ski Sporter. I've heard the orginal
ones were folding but anyone that would fit
the front and back mounting fixtures would
do.

Jonclaud, the original support rod was simply a piece or 3/4" OD clear anodized aluminum tubing with the ends crimped and bent at 90-degrees to the rod. In order to slide the rod through the pocket sewn in the cockpit cover, the rod is cut in half and a 2" section of 1/2" OD tube is slipped about and inch into the 3/4" OD tube and staked in place by a couple of small pop rivets. The two halves are slipped in each end of the cover's pocket and joined together in the center. You may want to crimp and bend the ends of the rod last since the length from one support to the other is somewhat critical.
