I'm looking for a thermostat housing for a late model V8 Merc. This is the part that the hoses all attach to (inlet from drive, outlet to waterpump and 2 outlets to exhaust)... the thermostat sits between it and the intake manifold... if anyone has one they want to get rid of i'd appreciate it.

just like the one in the photo below...

I have one with 10 minutes run time on the hose. It was the most expensive new part I had to buy last year when I was swapping engines. I put closed cooling on the engine before I ever ran it, and of course step 1 when installing the cooling system was to remove thermostat housing. :( I paid $199, make me an offer.

Where did you get those bolts that you have in the tstat housing?

Cuda,

Thanks, i'll run it by the person who needs it and see how much they are willing to give for it... expensive damn things i know.. bam marine wants 178 or so for one...

as for the bolts, all of the non strength essential hardware (intake, thermostat housing, waterpump, etc) on my motor are Stainless SHCS... bout comparable to a grade 5 bolt in strength...
