Here are some early Morse shifters that are the same that Donzi used up until the Mid to Late 70's. These are the same once you remove the extention covers and mount them to the cockpit side.

The prices will vary depending on there condition.

Can these be made to work on current model Mercruisers? I hate the plastic look. I am assuming that I could take one of these apart and have it chrome plated and then make a new ball for top. Please email or call me, I would like to purchase one of them.

Yes, They will work with Mercruisers with no problem at all. They will work with anything pretty much.

I have #2,3,4,6,and 7 still. I also have 2 BRAND NEW NOS Morse shifters still in the original boxs and with all the original paper work. I want $400.00 for each of them. They are 100% MINT!
