View Full Version : Alpha Tools?

I'm in the process of thinking about resealing my Alpha -- while draining the oil last week I found water.

In looking at it, I see there are some special tools required and before I stand in front of a mill and lathe to make spanners and the like to take my drive apart, I was wondering if anyone knew of a source of discounted tools to service these puppies.

Or if anyone has a set of used tools...

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

If you found water in the gear oil of the Alpha, the culprit is most likely the prop shaft seal. And there may be a reason for the seal going bad, for instance, the prop shaft may be bent?
Got to tell you, I just don't screw with drives anymore. When it breaks or gets screwed up like yours is, I bring it to a professional. This way, it is garanteed, and they got all the tools and do it everyday.
Of course, finding a competent professional is the tough part.
