Due to the fact that my wife is now unemployed I am selling a 1966 18 2+3 v drive. Boat is all origional and in very good structural cond. The 1966 has a foam core deck so there us no rot to deal with. All orig yellow gel coat with black stripe. The orig motor was a 427 side oiler Ford. I DO NOT have the motor.I am selling it with no motor. I do have the Borg Warner trans and Casale V drive. Includes trailer. I hate to sell this but it must go. $5500. Feel free to email at klflash@pivot.net or call 207-693-4911 I can deliver the boat for a fair price. Thanks, Kurt. I will get some digital pics.

Mr. Magoo
If boat is not yet sold can you send me pictures? Any other details of Boat would be appreciated ie: hours, covers, trailer, any major projects undertaken such as wiring, gas tank etc.
If this boat is a project, how big a project is it?

If you haven't sold the boat, could you email me some pics? Do you still have the water jackets etc. ?

Jerry :)

I still have the boat.It is in very good orig. cond. The wiring looks fine and the boat was not used in salt water. This boat has had very little use in its life and had not been used in 15+ yrs. Structurally it is fine as the 1966 Donzis' had foam core decks so there is no balsa rot to contend with. I have uncovered it and will take the pics today. Thanks for the replys, Kurt.

Oh SOOOOO cool.

The 427 fit under the hatch?

That looks just like my boat but a V drive. Same color and everything. This is going to be an AWSOME restoration project for someone. Best of luck selling it...really nice boat.

Boldts, thanks for posting my photo. Here is another one dcp00350.jpg
And yes the 427 fits under the hatch. That was the origional motor. Several months back I had a post on how many 18 v drives and Allen Brown had replied that there were only about a dozen produced and the Casale v drives were made for the Secret Service for LBJ! I hate to sell but now my wife and I are both unemployed

Seeing how different it is and how well it fits the boat ( pads all between strakes) I would guess that is the original trailer as well. Mr. Magoo how close to East Boothbay are you?

I thought Naples, ME sounded familiar, for a couple years a few years back a bunch of us would rent a house on Long Lake in Bridgton to snowmobile for the winter. Down in Naples there was a restaurant/bar right across the street from the lake we would always go to. After going there for a few hours we would take the sleds across that 30’ – 40’ open water area by the damn until we would have people running out saying that they called the cops on us.

Kurt,

From what I remember it was a great little hangout but I could never seem to remember leaving.

That’s a great spot up there with Long Lake above you and Lake Sebago to the south, hopefully things turn around for you so that you can keep that rare beauty.

Man, someone needs to pick this thing up! Wish I had the room. This is a rare bird, and with a nice 427 in this, just make sure your passengers have life vests...

The economy must be in a really bad state when a boat as rare as this has not been scoffed yet
:(

The economy is not really that bad. It is just too many people are holding on to their money which is affecting many businesses.

I agree, this is a sweet deal.

Mr. Magoo,
I think that schlif sent you a private email within the Donzi.net site. I had a message sitting in my profile for about 2 months until I started to poke around and found it.

If you go into your “my profile (http://www.donzi.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=my_profile)” at the top right of this window where you change your personal preferences you can also look at your personal emails that is only functional within the Donzi.net site.
This is what the “my profile” button looks like:

http://www.donzi.net/photos/cringer050.gif

Once you open up that window you can scroll down to the bottom and view your incoming emails. This area looks like this:

http://www.donzi.net/photos/cringer051.gif

To send someone an email all that you need to do is find a posting that he or she has posted and just click on the “Send New Private Message” button that looks like this below:

PS. The blue buttonized effect around each of these pictures does not appear on the site it was strictly just a case of boredom on my part. :D
