I wonder what's your favorite spot to go to by boat, to eat or have a few beers, in your neck of the woods?

Here are two of my favorites in St. Petersburg.

The Wharf - Great bar & food

Salt Rock Grill - Redington Beach (Dress up spot)

Donzigo, what was the name of the place you took Donzi Jenn, Rain Man and me to dinner at? We had to pass the couple in their boat that were doing the wild thing to get there. I liked that spot and can only imagine it gets pretty wild in season.

On Lake Winni, where I do most of my boating, I like the Naswa Beach Bar. It's a dump but you can pull your boat right in and one can have their favorite libation or two.

My other favorite watering hole on Winni is Pony Boy aka Waleye's island home. The scenic views there are some of the best that the lake has to offer (that'd be one Mustang Susie and one Donzi Trish) and the Bud is alllllways coool.

Ditto on Salt Rock Grill, Donzigo!!! Last winter when I drove the Donzi up there, we were all "pimped out" in nice clothes, jackets etc. Backed my loud a$$ open exhausted baby in, in front of the waterfront dining area. Everyone was staring from their tables. Yes, I felt like the man, that is until I went to step up on the dock with her mooring lines and fell straight in the drink! To boot, I was standing in neck deep water with my cell in my front jacket pocket  Son of a bitch!!! After standing there dazed for a minute, me and my crew busted out laughing, hard. Although it sucked, it was worth a few laughs. Needless to say, we piled back in, fired her up, and smoked the no wake zone straight back to the house. It was COOOOLLLLDDDDD!.

Other St. Petersburg favorites:

*Shepherds (T&A capital of the boating world here in the bay area.)

*Gators on the Pass (anyone who attended the Hometown Rally will remember Gators)

*Billy's Crab Shack (Gotta stop at Billy's after a long day at Shell Island - nice 3 story restaurant/bar over looking the "ritziest" waterfront areas of St. Pete)

Depending where I am, I'd have to name 3 places...

1) The Swan on the Rideau is a great English Pub 5 minutes down river from my house, it has about 20 imported beers on tap, and a great patio.

2) Rum Runners bar and grill in Alex Bay on the St.Lawerence, all they do is serve, on your boat, really cold beer, great frozen drinks, and great steamed clams :D .

and finally...

3) The Cove in Deerfield Beach is a fantastic restaurant/bar or is it a fantastic bar/restaurant. All I know is that it rocks at Happy Hour. :D

I am with Nathan (JamesBon) above.

Shepards, Gators, and Salt Rock. Wow, that list goes from almost no clothes to decked out.

Only thing that sucks about salt rock is that by the time you get your drink on, it is probably dark, and a poorly lit no-wake zone is definately a buzz hassle.

It doesn't matter as long as the donzi clan is there....

Clearwater-Shepards on Sunday is tough to beat. Even if you pull up in a bayliner you might get lucky. naaaahhhhhh.

St.Pete- I will agree with both Nathan and Donzigo, Billy's crab shack because of the bar and the Wharf because of the food, Shell island for the view. Saturday is the prime day for Shell.

Vero Beach- Riverside cafe. biggest dock on the Indian River and the strongest drinks in town.

Ft. Pierce- Mana-Tiki and Harbortown Marina

Sebastian- Capt Hirams- The best outside bar on the East coast.

Can't speak to anything in my area, cause Oregon is Brain dead about boats, but Any PUB in the Gulf Islands, Canada, will blow your mind. I think we went to all of them.

Lake Tahao, Beacons.

Mid-Cheasapeake, Chantlers - Whitehall Creek.
Red Eye - Kent Narrows.
Riverdale Inn - Upper Magothy.
Mike's Crab House - Upper South River.
Naptown Chart House is too fancy for my tastes.

South Puget Sound - The Tides, Gig Harbor.

Crazy Horse, the Wharf is where we almost died of the heat. First and only time it happened, sorry everybody. We went to Billy's the next night with Ranman and Jenn, where they were doing the nasty thing, and Jenn was the one who bird-dogged the event for us. (So, Jenn, do you do that often?)

Jamesbon, We went last year to Salt Rock and wathced the Christmas parade by dinner on the patio. Nice place. A little too far from South St. Pete for a regular spot though.

I got to get down to Miami to see the place with the Donzi pictures. Crazy Horse? Sounds like a road trip to me!

I'm enjoying reading all these cool spots. Gonna print it out when the post dies. Great info. Keep it coming.

Wow, sooo many in Florida. I agree with Shepards and Gators. I have not been to Salt Rock, but, have heard alot of good things about it. Don't forget Hooters Port Richey. It is on the water. My local favs, Margarittagrille in Homosassa. Margarittas are served in fish bowls and great food. Planation Inn Crystal River. Nice atmosphere and good food inside. Pool open to the public usually has good scenery. smileybo

Up here on the Big Bend of Florida it's the Riverside Cafe (aka Stan's place), and next door (especially on Sundays) at Poseys Oyster Bar (http://199.44.235.18/poseys/default.cfm), both on the St. Marks River south of Tallahassee. Ths food is better at Stan's.

I also second Hooter's in Port Ritchy and Alabama Jacks on Card Sound.

PS: Here was a view from our watering hole late afternoon last Saturday. Service was lousy since it was me who had to reach in to the frig to get another beer, but the scenery made up for it.

From the left side of the country, a few "don't miss" spots.....

1) Lake Tahoe - Chambers Landing

2) Sacramento Delta - Giusti's

3) San Francisco Bay - Sam's (Tiburon)

Just one man's opinion, but if ever in the area a stop at any of these would be worth your while.

On Clear Lake, Texas, our favorites are:

Of course the world famous Lance's Turtle Club, home of the best Bushwackers in the universe. My honey calls them Thigh-Spreaders.

Seabrook Beach Club is Eye-Candy Central in the summer! Great pool! http://www.donzi.net/photos/jguidry15.gif

--------Two places I almost hesitate to mention, because they are both holes, but I guess thats the direction I lean,or something.
1.Browns on Harsens Island,Algonac Mi.(original home of Chris Craft).Usually ridiculously hot in the summer, but the beers cold, and the wings are good.Sometimes strange clientele.
2.Blarneys Island on the Fox Lakes(cant remember which one),northwest of Chicago.Drag racing every week of the summer, and womens underware hanging everywhere.Much cold beer.Always very strange clientele.
Oh yah,3.I also love Alabama Jacks. Its a big step above the other two, believe it or not.
Maybe we should start a "holes we all love" thread..........just......ol red!.....Bill S

Hey Forrest, we used to have a hunt camp up in Quincy, and we would occasionally make the ride to Posey's. That place JAMMED on Sunday nights! It used to close early (11 pm), and there would be a caravan of cars headed from there to the County Line Bar after 11 pm. The County Line would go from empty to packed in about 20 minutes! We used to have a ball up that way. I remember leaving Posey's with a local hottie that wanted to stop at this itty bitty bar on Hwy 98, I mean a small bar, about 10 feet long. I thought I was going to have to shoot a giant red neck fisherman there, he wouldn't leave these two OLD ladies alone, then he started on the babe I was with. Luckily for both of us, I was too drunk to find the ammo for my 44 mag. :o

I bet the oysters are good right now up at Posey's. Wish I had a bushel.

Our favorite is Bridgeview at Pasadena. It is owned by the same people as the Warf. Another of our favorites is the Pub on the ICW. They have new docks, and more than most. The Pub also has someone there to help you tie up.

Here is a picture of Bridgeview.

Ponyboy....

Great pix!! Thanks for posting them!! Princess & I had an uneventful run home, she slept, and the constant buzzing of the radar detector kept me alert.... They were dragging on Lily Pond again yesterday, I think I'll make an appearance there next saturday.
