The way up wasn't the problem Ted, except for two speeding idiots that passed us... one smacked a guard rail in front of a semi eek! in front of us, and the other went from the right lane across traffic and into the median  ..

The first couple hours on the way back... now, that was a different story eek! wink I literally slid out of a service station, after getting stuck right at the pump.. and we then crawled for about 40-50 miles, if I would have come to a dead stop, I never would have been able to get going again. I had to start off in 2nd gear/auto at lights and ramps.. I was the ONLY 2wd dually we saw the entire state of NJ on Saturday navigating the slop all day... And we were the ONLY vehicle towing a trailer, much less a BOAT !! Once we got to NJTP, it was clear sailing south. But, from Pearsons house up R9, and west across 195, it was a nail biter. We had about 8-10 miles of solid whiteout blizzard with 10-30 foot visibility, 30 knot winds, no lane markings, single file travel, but the trusty Ford PS kept chugging. After a while, we could see maybe 200 yards at best, mostly it was 10-50 yards.. I was pretty impressed with the traffic flow actually. All we heard repeatedly on the radio was that NJTP had 1700 vehicles fighting the snow, but we only saw no more than 4 or 5 moving... we appreciated you following up on us MOP. We lost Tom somewhere's, I was afraid to stop, so we just kept trucking along with the Crit in tow.

I for one am extremely impressed that Jim and Scott made it thru ok with 2wd. I grew up in Michigan and have never seen it snow so hard. I had to swerve to avoid a guy that spun out in front of me and ended up in the "grass" beside the shoulder. It was at least a foot deep on top of mushy grass/ground. It took 20 minutes of rocking to get free. And that was with 4wd. If I did not have 4wd I would still be stuck there.

Many thanks to Phil Ashley (MOP) and Scott Pearson for this entire trip going so smooth!!

Y'all are certifiable. And I warned you to get sled dogs. Eight tiny reindeer would have done in a pinch.

But I'm too chicken to try to decipher WAFNC&SBBR - any hints?
