Looked at what I think was a 1967 16 with a 302 Ford Interceptor and a 270T Volvo drive. What does the T in 270 stand for is that trim or tilt? Does this actually have trim capabilities? Anyboby got a guess what the Hp of a 302 Interceptor is?
The foil sticker on the rear seat back had C16-400, I looked in the registry at serial #s and this seems to fall about 1967 however found another 16 with the #16400, some 16 #s have the c in front of them and some with the dash in the middle, is C16-400 the actual srial # or a model or series #?
Thanks Danny
I own Hull #16420, a '67 16' Ski Sporter (http://www.donzi.net/hull.cfm?id=198) with a repowered 302 and the original Eaton/Volvo 200. The Volvo 270T allows for trim on the fly, and is supposed to be a very good drive. My 302 puts out about 300 hp, I don't know what the Interceptor 289 did.

Dan, I should let the experts answer, but, the back of the 16' brochure (red 16'with couple drinking champange), specs show a 165hp Interceptor; I thought this was a 289cu in. The 18' of the same vintage indicates a 200hp Interceptor.

Any thoughts on where one might find service manuals for Ford Interceptor engines.

The 165hp intercepter was an old ford 262cid small block they used those engines in old ford falcons.I researched this many years ago when I did my first 302 conversion . Everything from that motor will fit on a 302 I have done it .

Ralph, The intersepter waw a 260(165hp) ford then the 289 anf then the 302was in the 1966 16 Donzi the bell housing has a different bolt pattern than the 302 but the engine mounts line up great. I too upgraded our 16 to the 302. works great and is almost the same weight. the 289 put out 185 to 220 hp depending which one you had.
