I have a 1994 22'classic 454 w/ a Bravo Drive and currently running a Mercury Mirage plus 48-13246 A50 23P. I want to use a 4 blade (Stainless) and even possibly a cleaver 4 blade. Anyone had any luck, or one for sale. I am getting about 70mph current setup using the installed speedo. I am not looking to increase speed but coming off plain faster with a skier. Jeff

I am glad you asked because I have a 22 with a 502 and would like to know what the best prop setup would be.

I have a 95 22 w/454Mag Bravo.
The prop that came on the boat was a Michigan Wheel it is awful.
I tried the tuned 22 OMC Raker off my 18 good holeshot, great cruise but she hit the rev limiter (4900RPM) before topping out.
So I bought a 23 Mirage Plus, works great but a little slow out of the hole.
I have never tried a 4 blade.

2001 22 classic with 502 and a 25 pitch, three blade, mirage plus. Factory guides say 75-77 with this combo, but I have not verifyed this yet, because I have left the GPS at home so far. The boat only has 5.5 hours on it. The boat does have plenty of bite with this prop.
I would experiment with three blades. Four blades are designed to give the rear of the boat lift, which is exactly the opposite effect you want with a skiier and this hull design. You will see four blades on a lot of step hauls today to give the rear of these hulls more lift.
In my opinion, a bigger three blade should give you more bite getting up and down off of plane. Finally, I am very impressed with the quality and construction of the mirage plus, especially compared to the four blade Hydromotives I had on my previous boat. Good luck.... todd
P.S. One more thought. All of the 22 new 22 classic with 454mags that I looked at recently were equiped with a 23 mirage plus. Basically, the factory says that this is the best prop for all-around performance. I'm done now.

I have a 23 Mirage plus and a 23 Revolution4 on my 22Criterion. both come out of the hol about the same with a skier. the revolution seems more stable but pulls rpms down about 150-200 rpms down. however cruse is5mph higher. One question Does yout prop say mirage plus on it. My numbers don't match yours.
