I'm looking at a pair of Gil stainless auger style muffler tips for my sbc. The slash-cut tips extend 11" and contain a double auger that is supposed to cut the noise down. Has anybody ever seen or used these. My main concern is excessive back pressure and hp loss. These look very well made but I've never seen anything like them before. Any feedback is welcome.

Thanks,

Murph

Murph,
I use a set of Gil Power tip silencers on my 22-502. The baffled area is inside the engine compartment and from outside the boat , you can't tell that they are there. I lost no speed or had any problems but now instead of an ear piercing noise,I have a deep throbbing at idle.It doesn't quiet your boat, it makes it acceptable. I love my Gil tips and I would highly recommend them.
