View Full Version : We're in Good Company.....Take a Look !!
This is the cover of a local boating magazine here in southern California. The big black yacht ( 100 plus footer ) is “The Endeavor” owned by the late Malcolm Forbes. The 2 speedboats on the rear deck are, on the right a Cigarette and on the left a Donzi. Both are painted the same brown/ white color scheme.
I guess that we Donzi owners know a good thing….maybe Malcolm too !!!!

I July, 1973, I was with my family on a trip up the Intercoastal from Ft. Lauderdale to Canada, when we stopped in Port St. Lucie for the night. Mr. Evinrude's 120ish ft. yacht was berthed there. Hanging from davits on both sides were Donzi 16's. Quite an endorsement.

I have seen this vessel at Chesley Pier
NY, NY. hunter green and gold with a
matching Donzi and Cigarrete on the
aft deck. Both look to be 20's I think one
is a Minx and the other a Son of a Gun.
Nice to have money.

I saw that boat too, about 6 years ago, the Donzi is a Hornet III and the Cig is an early 20', before they called them Son of Gun.

Years ago I saw Evil Kenevil's yatcht which came into South Seas Island Plantation with helicopter and yes, two RED Sweet Sixteens on the back. ........This "Donzi thing" goes way back.

I was on Forbes "Highlander" several years ago. Way too many scratches, dings, and nicks on the cigarette and donzi. Everyone in the group is walking around this beautiful boat, and here I am checking out the donzi and cigarette.
