Reduced chance of water reversion.

Sure it’ll cut down on the chance of reversion, but man would you really want an eyesore like that sticking out the back of your boat? There are other ways of redundancy but I guess they skipped those options.

Done in GM design studio by the same guy that did the Pontiac Aztec!

Looks like he was going for low end torque.. Those super traps work great on cars and motorcycles

Do they have fix-it tickets for boats?...Maybe that would explain it.

I think there is more to that boat then we see. Notice the E drive lower unit and the hatch bubble. Not to mention the exhaust. Whose is it???

It looks like it belongs to a Thomas Schmitt
Petoskey, MI. I wonder if he is in any relation to William Schmitt (http://www.donzi.net/hull.cfm?id=387) that is in the Donzi Registry?

Funky...
I could see myself breaking them off at the dock. Bending them, whatever.
What about water skiing behind that thing? http://www.donzi.net/ubb/eek.gif
Bring some shampoo cause you'd get a very hot shower! http://www.donzi.net/ubb/eek.gif

This is too good an opportunity to pass up! I live about 1.5 hours North of Petoskey, MI (where this boat is located), and I'm thru there all the time for work. I'm going to make an appointment to see this beauty in person some time in the next few days, I'll post what I find. Hopefully I can get some photo's showing that funky exhaust system up close, and I can't wait to hear the story on why they are there in the first place!

Riley,
What’s the skinny on this X-18? Did you get a chance to take a look-see?

Hi Craig,

No I didn't get a chance to take a look at her yet. We've got a big sales push on this month with one of my product lines, so free time has been scarce! I'm hoping to call the owner this weekend and try to set something up next week. I'll keep you informed.
