Hi Ralph,

I've never been accused of having good taste, but I've always thought yellow and white together looks like fried eggs. Yellow overall with black trim sounds cool. Save a lot of masking when you paint too.

Ralph. Just sent you an E-Mail of my 16. She had a yellow hull white top with a yellow stripe. Outlined in black.

Owen,

I actually tried the other day and probably just out of stupidity couldn't figure it out. I have been so busy and compter time is limited. I also have to get some pics of my 22 up as well as the Cuisine art drive.

Ralph, just my $.02, there is a nice looking 18 on the registry owned by David Owsley of Pensacola, Florida. It must look something like what Franks 16' looked like, looks sharp & classy. Another argument against a color on top is that other than white, most colors fade out with continued sun exposure, with a white and yellow stripe any fading would be less obvious to the average looker. ...Good Luck Doc

Ralph,

I have been thinking. Your boat is an original 1966 barrelback tripple hatch. There really is something about keeping a boat that old original. I did mine with the intention to stay original but just loveed the look without the black. It is a hard call but if I were you I would keep it the way it was.

I hear what you are saying but I look at it this way the bottom of that boat has been white since I was 1 year old! I could pretty much say that is original to me.
I am still tossed though just tring to get some opinions
Thanks Ralph

Nate,

When I pulled the deck off the 18 I used 5 guys and 1 girl. It really worked great. I too thought about the chain hoists and so forth but this way worked well enough that when I do the 22 I just am going to get about 15 people and lift. I liked how easy it was to control as well as the unifrom weight distribution. In looking at the construction if the 18 I really ( is I ever used a chain hoist) would stay away from the bow. Ahead of the dash there is very little and I would be worried about structural bending/gelcoat cracking. The only thing that would make the deck a lot easier to do which I will do for the 22 is to take off the wheels and drop the trailer on the ground. Just my .02. I just think if you have 10 or so good buddies call on them grab some pizza and beer and call it a night.
