Try using a product such as Lime-Away.

Best thing I've found is to clean them at the lake before leaving. How-ever, should you not do that, I've found that Mothers Aluminum Polish also works wonders.

Steel Wool works best for me. Everything else takes way to much work and time.

I use a little polishing compound.

Ditto what Ralph said! I just took a slightly crusty pair of 4" tips, used a little polishing compound on a wet sponge, and they look like new.

A shameless plug (http://www.donzi.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=000238)

If they have a build up from heat and hard or salt water I use SnowBowl toilet cleaner or Starbright Hull Cleaner (mild acids)

If they are tarnished from heat or rust, metal polish (Mothers) or rubbing compound works good.

BTW Tannin stains can be removed from the hull with Starbright Hull Cleaner.

A small amount of Zing in water takes it off with one wipe of a cloth. Rinse and your done in a few seconds.

Thanks for the suggestions, i just used auto-sol, and they look like new. It was from lake water, i live on a limestone based lake. Now they shine like stainless steel should wink
