Prop Shaft Spacer

I have a long hub prop that I would like to try out. Is there a problem leaving the line cutter and short hub spacer off for the test.
The prop wont go any further in then the end of the splines anyway. Thoughts please??

The spacer/line-cutter must be in place . . . always! All of the prop's thrust is transmitted to the drive through the spacer.

You may have to cut down a long spacer to make everything fit right.
