Some 33s had stringer problems so keep an eye on them.

How about some pics!

I just got back from 4 days of enjoying the Crossbow. The only fly in the ointment was a leak in the shift linkage bellows. Took it to the local shop and they couldn't get it in until Sunday, but said it wouldn't leak on plane. So had to keep it on plane as much as possible, bummer.

The water intake for the speedo is plugged up and since my lift hasn't been retrofitted for the crossbow I couldn't get it unplugged. The boat cruised great at 3000 rpms but would like an idea of how fast it's running.

I appreciate the advice on the stringers, but since I'm a novice, could you give me an idea of what to look for.

Thanks
Bill

Hey Bill hope your loving that ride ,my Crossbow is powered by twin 454's with bravo drives , at 3000 rpms I,m cruising at about 40-42 mph ,you can open those babies up to 4200 rpms and you flirt with the 60-62 mph range ,watch out though bugs start to hurt when they hit you in the face at 50 mph or better. p.s. saw your photos ,have you checked your hull numbers for the year, you seem to have a different rear grill setup then mine ,and my boat has rear headrests that were used in 88. just wondering??

Thanks for the info. The speeds were about what I was guessing. I haven't checked the hull number yet, but will. This is exactly the kind of info I was hoping for.

Thanks again,
Bill

Crossbow

I checked the hull number and it is an 1988. I wonder if they made different models of the crossbow.

Donzi only made one model of crossbow. Mine is a 1989.

They change things a lot over the Z-33 years, though.
