Hi everyone. I just registered and will be spending plenty of time on this site. I have 2 Donzi's: a "66" 16' and a "78" 22'. The 16' I've owned for 24 years. It has no serial number and is supposed to be within the first 100 made. The 22' I have had for 15 years and gets used very often. I have done lots of work on both boats.
Talk later,
Rodger

You've obviously been a member of the family for a long time. Glad you have finally found the Registry. As above, pictures are a must. How-ever, we might forego the pictures if a personel appearance at one of the future Donzi gatherings is on your agenda. As president of the Midwest Donzi Club, I'd like to extend an invitation to become a member of our club and to join our gathering next May at Lake Cumberland in KY. Donzi owners really have a great time when they all get together no matter where it may be in the country. :)

EricG...
To answer your question; the boat is called an F22. The seating is similar to the the present 22-2+3's. The boat does have the raised engine compartment like the Criterions which is important to me, otherwise my engine would not fit in the boat. Contrary to the information on this site; the F22's were introduced in 1978 not 79. I don't have a digital camera or a scanner, therefore I cannot post pic's immediatly, but eventually I will cross that hurdle. Thanks for the interest. I can talk about this stuff non- stop.

I very well may be interested in selling the 16'. It originally was Ford powered with an Eaton outdrive. Twenty years ago I converted it to Mercruiser and S.B. Chevy. It now has an Alpha drive but no engine at the moment (I put it in one of my cars).

I put much effort into finding the F22 back in the mid eighties because I wanted the raised engine hatch. I found it out in Lake Geneva, WI. in July of 87 on a very rough day. I had a heck of a time trying to go fast enough in my 16' following the guy in order to ask if he wanted to sell it. Finally the guy stopped before I lost sight of him and I was able to catch up and propose a deal. I spent the next 6 weeks pestering him until he sold it to me. He probably gave in to selling it just to shut me up.
