View Full Version : A boat for a $100!!!!!!!

Just a mile from where i live there is a hull that looks like an old chekmate sitting in this guys front yard
It has a for sale sign for 100 dollars obo. The boat is a complete mess. it has been sitting here for years,
and I have been wanbting to buy it for years. The boat is bare. only thing it has is a stearing wheel and a tralor.
I plan to go look at it today and offer the guy 50$ for it, if the hull looks half sollid.What do you guys think.

Buy it - bring $100 with you "just in case". If the floor is rotted out, no big deal. Just glass in a new plywood floor. I bought a Tootisie-Roll BROWN Hydrostream Viper a couple of years ago that way but for $400. All it needed was a new floor and seat frames, and I was flying low on the water once I bolted on my 140 Johnrude. Now, I wish I hadn't sold it.

Hey guys The boat is an old chekmate v-16. There was no floor, and the sides of the hull were not fastened aginst the deck. but the bottom feltsolid, and so did the transome. When I get paid I am going to go buy it. What size motor should I put on it? Will I need to strengthen the transome for a 150hp ob. Hey hyper post the link and I will call you.
