I live on the River and have little kids who are intimidated by skiing behind the 18' 2+3. I thought one of those little 152 Medalion boats with the Merc sport jet might fit the bill, or some other knock off. These boats seem to have disappeared as fast as they appeared though. Is there anything wrong with these boats or the sport jets? Anybody have any experience?

thanks, Matt

I had one of those for about 3 years. Great boat! Just didn't go fast enough. Pretty rough ride compared to my 16'. I would spin like a fool and had it 10' up jumping wakes. Good hull!

I actually still own one, it is the 120HP Jet. My wife likes to ski behind it because there is no prop and she feels safer. It is a little rough unless the water is calm but it is really handy to have around as an extra boat.

Anyone have any comments on buying one of these 152 medallions for about 4k 1997?

Do they weigh about 1200-1500 with a 120hp Force engine?
Anything to look for when testing it?

Thanks

Yea I own one too. 152 medallion and i am not very happy with it. it is very slow. it has a hard time even gettin on plane. im not sure how big the motor is but i know it has 3 cylinders. im not sure if it is the 90 or 120 hp jet. it blows my mind that you can pull somebody behind it. any ideas why mine might be so slow. just had a new impeller put on too

do some searches on this site - seems I have seen some posts about the foam soaking up a lot of water and due to the extra weight it really slows down. I think the foam can be removed and replaced
