Well, I took the prop back to my prop doctor & he re-worked it. He cut the upper edges (at the cup) at a 45 degree angle & they are somewhat rough. He said they used to come that way a long time ago. Man what a difference. She's running good now! http://www.donzi.net/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.donzi.net/ubb/biggrin.gif It has lowered the rpm to 4900 from 5200 and is more stable at top speed. I only got maybe a mile or two an hour more speed but I'm not bumping the rev limiter anymore. It's alot faster at idle too about 7 miles an hour now verses 4 which I kinda like because it doesn't yaw as bad.It still comes out of the hole good & midrange is still real good. and no more shutter at 2000 rpm. In Short, I LIKE IT!! http://www.donzi.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

45 degree angle?
Merc recommends a sharp 90 for the trailing edge.
Sometimes the prop shop will leave a burr when cutting the 90 which can be removed with some sandpaper.

Rick, the cut is on the flat part of the top, not in the round area (ear) of the prop & maybe more like 60 degrees instead of 45 and the edges are kinda sharp or rough. my prop guy says it helps sometimes.go figure? props & prop guys are kinda of weird. anyway it's working good so I think I'll leave well enough alone.
thanks for the reply..
