Okay guys I'm into it now. I had to buy two new risers today. The old risers had an elbow that went to a Salisbury Aqua-Silencer, then another elbow and about 5" of exhaust hose to the tips and thru the transom. I am wondering if it would be okay to run straight 3" hose right to the transom exhaust or not? Would it be too noisy (351 Ford) and can I or is there some kind of check valve I should put in the line so that the boat does not backfill? The risers are about a foot or so above the thru transom exhausts. Thanks

Noise is all perception. Yes it will be louder. but is faster than the silencers. Get tios with flaps or add them to the out side og the tips.
