JobbieNooner is a yearly party that is held on Lake St. Clair (near Detroit, Michigan) every summer. It was originated by a small group of automotive designers ("Jobbies") who wanted to take a co-worker, out for his birthday. They decided to blow out of work at lunchtime one Friday (i.e. "Pull a Nooner"), get together on their boats and have a good time. It started 27 years ago with four boats and seventeen friends. It has grown into the biggest party of the summer with an estimated 1,000+ boats and nearly 5,000 people attending in 2001. It has been nicknamed the "Mardi Gras of the Midwest."

Randy,

------Cant believe what a weenie I am.Got down to Gull Island about 1:30 and just couldnt bring myself to anchor anywhere near the horde. If you saw the two sailboats across the way,I threw the hook out there and watched the mayhem from a distance.About three thirty I hadnt spotted any of you guys anywhere so I went on over to Browns for a sandwich.I guess I had visions of the check I had written for the paint job in my eyes.No way was I going to raft up with anybody and I guess Im still too anal to leave the boat alone.Besides,I wanted to go for a swim and there was no way I would have swam in the area close to the island.A bunch of good reasons, but I still feel like-------a weenie!
-------Hope you guys had a great day.Even though I let myself down,I still had a good time.Great weather.A whole bunch of crazies(albeit from a distance).A few cold ones!Yup,a good day.
-------Now the plans start for Sarasota!!!!!!.........ol red!(Bill S)
