I am looking to purchase a 1995 sweet 16 with 96 hours. 5.0 litre V8 Alpha One. Looking for mechanical histories on 1995 was it a good year?

I also have a '95 C16 with the 5.0...I'm very pleased with it and an excellent combo. No issues with it at all so far. Just take time to respect it's limitations...

What are the boats limitations? I will operate it on a small lake with low wakes. What spped do you get from yours? Do you waterski behind it at all?

you will have NO issues water skiing behind it... the 16 doesn't toss too large of a wake at speed... the hull is a lot less stable at high speed with a lot of trim than the 18 but can be made better with prop experimentation and trim... the top end for yoru combo will be somewhere in the low to maybe approaching mid 50's... the boat will also tend to porpose a bit especially when lighter on fuel. overall i LOVE my 16 but then again i have a lot of time and experimentation and work invested to get it where it is... and i think it runs pretty dang well right now.. but hey.. there's always room for improvement wink

I'm in the mid fifties with my Z25 and there is a late model 16, with I think a V6, that can leave me behind when the chop is not too big.

In a small lake you shouldn't have any problems with it..it's perfect for these types. Jamie mentioned the stability at high speeds. Props do make a difference from his experience and mine in the handling. In large chop and confused water, it can be a handful, and can be tiring at times. Got to love spending time in the air.. :D
No problem pulling a skier behind it. We calculate I'm somehwere betwen 55 and 58 WOT in good conditions.
